SVLG Launches New ‘Silicon Valley Vibes’ Podcast Featuring Innovation Trends, Area Thought Leaders and Special Guests

Launch episodes feature recent event highlights with former Vice President Al Gore and CNN Commentator Van Jones, as well as conversations with innovative business leaders from SVLG members Aurora and Genentech

SAN JOSE, Calif. (May 30, 2023) — The Silicon Valley Leadership Group (SVLG) – the leading business association representing the innovation economy and its ecosystem – launched its first signature podcast, “Silicon Valley Vibes” (SVV). This magazine-style podcast draws from the wealth of innovation, belonging and sustainability content from SVLG’s member organizations and companies.

“Working closely with some of the leading names in so many fields in Silicon Valley, it can be easy to take for granted just how insightful and interesting some of the conversations we have are,” said SVLG’s Chief of Staff and SVP of Strategy – and SVV podcast co-host – Nadia Anderson. “SVV is a chance to showcase some of these fascinating talks with the companies who are iterating the most important issues and innovations in our culture.”

The podcast launches on the heels of SVLG’s rollout of its new Acceleration Agenda, building off of the group’s newly launched Centers of Expertise in (1) Technology & Innovation, (2) Sustainable Growth, and (3) Inclusion & Belonging. Drawing on SVLG’s members from across the innovation ecosystem – as well as leading area experts – the podcast content focuses heavily on those areas as well as emerging startups and overall trends. The SVV podcast also takes advantage of multiple technologies from Silicon Valley, including an AI announcer, “VeeVee.”

“The podcast is really a chance to deepen the conversation on so many issues,” said Peter Leroe-Muñoz, General Counsel and SVP, Technology & Innovation, and the show’s other co-host. “And we do that by talking with the people who are shaping the technologies, exploring new ideas and creating the best practices in a host of areas.”

The first three episodes will drop this week, featuring conversations with SVLG senior leaders and dynamic guests such as: former VP Al Gore on the climate crisis, a highlight from SVLG’s previous  “ESG to Carbon Free” summit; CNN commentator Van Jones on driving progress on DEI in business and public life, a highlight from SVLG’s recent “Moment to Momentum” summit; senior executives from Genentech and Aurora; and experts in AI and DEI.  Future episodes will include executives and experts from companies like Addy AI, Amazon, BriteLab, Comcast, San Jose State, and Santa Clara University, as well as other leaders in their fields.

“Silicon Valley is a one-of-a-kind innovation ecosystem. With world-class academic institutions and industry leaders that are at the vanguard of our economy. Silicon Valley Vibes gives us a chance to not just feature the conversations we hear every day,” said Ahmad Thomas, CEO of SVLG, “but begin a larger dialogue with a global audience.”

The first three episodes will roll out this week on all popular podcast platforms, and future episodes of the season will drop on Wednesdays. To learn more visit svlg.org/media
