On December 17, 2020, we hosted a virtual COVID-19 Vaccine Town Hall for our members. This timely presentation and Q&A covered the latest news and research on the COVID-19 vaccines.
We heard directly from physicians involved in California’s Health and Human Services Vaccination Guidelines Group and had the opportunity to ask questions after their presentations.
Thank you to our presenters:
– Jeffrey Silvers, MD, Medical Director of Pharmacy and Infection Control, Sutter Health
– Randy Bergen, MD, Immunization Lead, Kaiser Permanente, Northern California
– Bernard Lo, MD, Director, Program in Medical Ethics, UCSF, Emeritus and President, The Greenwall Foundation, NY
Moderated by Bill Isenberg, MD, PhD, Vice President, Chief Quality & Safety Officer, Sutter Health
Introduction by Elizabeth Vilardo, MD, MBA, President & CEO, Sutter Bay Area Medical Foundations
Please note that the information shared at the town hall was the latest to date, and will not be relevant in the coming weeks and months as the vaccine landscape changes. However, the vaccine is rapidly changing, iterating, and now being disseminated to the masses, which is why it is more important than ever to have this information available to all. You can watch our town hall in its entirety here:
A note to members: The Leadership Group has put together a vaccine distribution working group to aid the Santa Clara and San Mateo County Public Health Departments to ensure all members of the community are able to be vaccinated if they so choose. If you’d like to sign up please email Kat Wortham at [email protected].
In addition, the Santa Clara County Emergency Operations Center and the Valley Medical Center Foundation are experiencing another shortage of necessary PPE, specifically nitrile gloves and 3M-branded 1860 N95 masks. We are asking for in-kind donations of these items. If you are able to donate please email Kat Wortham at [email protected].
