As we eagerly await 2020, it’s important that we take a step back and admire, reflect on, and capture the progress we’ve made in 2019. This year, we put a laser focus on Impact. Impact for our members, impact in our organization and most importantly, impact in our community. Using our core values as a compass, we set out on a mission to be bold and visionary – to improve the quality of life for all. Together, we continued to make the Silicon Valley and the Bay Area a better place to live and work.

While we have made progress, we still have a lot of room for growth. 2020 holds a wealth of opportunity and we look forward to coming back even more ready to serve. See some of our top accomplishments here.

Here’s what we did in 2019:

Celebrated Transportation Success

Historical Transportation Impact: Raised $30 billion for public transit through four BART extension measures. Raised $1 billion for Caltrain electrification.

Placed Emphasis on Housing Solutions

Historical Housing Impact: Successfully advocated for more than 300 housing developments in the region. Created The Housing Trust Silicon Valley leveraging $200 million for affordable housing.

Made Progress From Sacramento… to Washington D.C.

Historical Applied Materials Turkey Trot Impact: More than $9.5 million raised for families in need.

Historical Education Impact: 9,000+ middle school students in under-served schools introduced to STEM careers through Young Men’s and Young Women’s Leadership Summits. 1,400+ students served through our Community College to Career Initiative. 1,500+ member business executives engaged as mentors.
