Put a Spring in Your Step During the Heart & Soles 6K & 10K To Boost Local Children’s Health

San Jose, CA – What better way to greet Spring this Saturday, March 23rd then with a joyful, family-friendly run from Santa Clara University to Avaya Stadium as part of the Sixth Annual Heart and Soles 6K & 10K run founded and produced by the Silicon Valley Leadership Group Foundation. With your participation, this event will help the Boys and Girls Club of Silicon Valley renovate Smythe Gym for 2,394 children to enjoy as well as supports the YMCA Silicon Valley’s efforts to offer nine after school and Summer learning programs for 815 K-6th grade kids. Proceeds also go to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Santa Cruz County and North San Mateo, Earthquakes Foundation, Santa Clara Office of Education and the Specialized Foundation. The great news is family members of all sizes are encouraged to participate in Heart and Soles including a fun run for the little ones while adults enjoy a scenic route as part of the 6K or 10K run.

This year’s fundraising goal is raise to $100,000 for Silicon Valley Leadership Foundation beneficiaries. In its first three years, the Heart and Soles Run contributed salad bars to more than 192 local schools, providing nutritious meals to approximately 150,000 school children.

Heart and Soles Race Day Timeline – Saturday, March 23, 2019

  • 6:30 AM – On-Site Registration, Bib Pick-up opens
  • 7:30 AM – Stage activities start
  • 8:00 AM – 6K and 10K starts
  • 8:45 AM – Activities on main stage
  • 9:00 AM – Last participant through Avaya Stadium
  • 9:30 AM – Awards Distributed from main Stage
  • 9:30 AM – Kids Fun Run
  • 10:30 AM – Event over (all roads re-opened)
