SVLG’s inaugural Diversity Forward Summit activates the conversations about racial justice and equity in the premiere innovation ecosystem in the world. With the theme, Innovating Culture, Activating Change, panels tackle the business imperative around diversity head on. With panelists from the nation’s top business schools to leading Silicon Valley executives. From examining representation at the highest levels of board culture to engaging on the ground organizers seeing corporate policies in play. Diversity Forward is about the steps that Silicon Valley can take to innovate corporate culture and activate change to achieve equity.

John Hope Bryant is an American entrepreneur, author, philanthropist, and prominent thought leader on financial inclusion, economic empowerment and financial dignity. Mr. Bryant is the Founder, Chairman, and CEO of Operation HOPE, Inc., the largest non-profit, best-in-class provider of financial literacy, and economic empowerment services in the United States for youth and adults. He is also the Chairman and CEO of Bryant Group Ventures, and Founder and Principal of The Promise Homes Company, which is the largest minority-controlled owner of single-family rental homes in the U.S.

Alex Padilla

U.S. Senator Alex Padilla

Senator Alex Padilla is the proud son of Mexican immigrants, his father a short-order cook and his mother a housekeeper. Alex was sworn in as California’s first Latino Secretary of State on January 5, 2015 and was re-elected in 2018, receiving the most votes of any Latino elected official in the United States. As Secretary of State, Alex worked to make our elections more accessible and inclusive, while fighting to protect the integrity of our voting systems. In December 2020 Alex was appointed by Governor Gavin Newsom to finish the term of Vice President-elect Kamala Harris.
