Biography

Kat Wortham is the Director of Health & Housing Policy at the Silicon Valley Leadership Group. In this role she leads the health policy portfolio, driving the organization’s mission for access to care and healthy outcomes, promoting and protecting innovation in health care, and championing policies around mental and behavioral health. On the housing side, she leads the project development work by scouting out development proposals and working on local strategy with the team. Kat has been invited to speak at State of Reform’s Northern California conference on how businesses can join the conversation around universal healthcare.

Kat’s top priority currently is representing the Leadership Group on all things COVID-19. In this function she writes a biweekly blog entitled “5 Things You Need To Know About COVID-19” as well as coordinates Roundtables, Town Halls, and other events for Leadership Group members. Further Kat oversees the advocacy efforts, acting as a liaison between the Leadership Group’s member companies and the different levels of government.

In addition to her role at the Leadership Group, Kat is associated with the Coalition of Housers as a member of the working group. In this capacity she coordinates learning and networking opportunities for affordable housing advocates across the South Bay.

Before becoming Director, Kat was a coordinator at the Leadership Group on the Housing portfolio where she spearheaded the 2017 Affordable Housing Tour and championed advocacy efforts for the Leadership Group on three high density, mixed-use housing developments in the South Bay.

Kat earned her B.S. in Psychology from Dominican University of California in 2016. In her spare time, Kat enjoys hiking and traveling with her partner Atanas and her dog Tater Tot.
