LLNL’s Fusion Power Breakthrough
On December 5, 2022, scientists at SVLG member company, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL), achieved fusion ignition, where they created more energy from fusion reactions than the energy used to start the process.
This breakthrough is the first time fusion ignition has ever been achieved, and the National Ignition Facility (NIF) at LLNL was responsible for one of the most important scientific feats of the 21st century. Dr. Tammy Ma, Lead for the Inertial Fusion Energy Institutional Initiative at LLNL, will join us virtually to break down this milestone and the possibilities ahead for our clean energy future.
Please join SVLG’s virtual discussion on February 16 from 10:00 A.M. – 11:00 A.M. PST as Dr. Tammy Ma and Tim McRae, SVLG’s SVP for Climate, dive into this remarkable achievement. There will be an opportunity for Q&A to answer all your questions about the road ahead.
