Venture Capital 101: Exploring the differences between traditional VCs versus Corporate VCs

Join the dynamic session to learn the basics of venture capital. Silicon Valley is the world’s center of innovation, which is fueled by investors from Sand Hill Road. Venture capital funds the next generation of unicorns (startups with $1 billion valuations) such as DoorDash, Stripe, and Instacart.

Lizzie joined Citi Ventures in October 2020 and is responsible for sourcing, executing, and managing venture investments in fintech companies. Prior to joining Citi Ventures Lizzie was on the investment team at Ultra Capital, a small private equity firm in San Francisco focused on accelerating the flow of capital into infrastructure projects that positively impact the planet. At Ultra, Lizzie worked closely with project company executives to drive value and improve business operations to increase growth and profitability. Lizzie began her career in equity research at Mizuho Securities USA in New York City, where she covered the Power & Utilities sector.

Lizzie graduated from Dartmouth College, where she received a B.A. in Environmental Studies with a minor in Economics. Outside of work Lizzie always enjoys an adventure, including sailing on the Bay, hiking, trying new restaurants and cuisines, and traveling to new places!
