Leadership Group Applauds Governor Newsom for his Executive Order on Clean Transportation

San Jose, CA, September 23, 2020: Today, California Governor Gavin Newsom signed an Executive Order accelerating the state’s deployment of zero-emission vehicles by 2035.

“The Silicon Valley Leadership Group applauds Governor Newsom for his leadership on climate.  The transportation sector accounts for almost fifty percent of our state’s climate pollution.  California must invest in and modernize its transportation systems, support local manufacturing job growth, and improve local air quality.  By embracing clean transportation technologies, instead of fossil fuels, we can help California meet its economic, clean air, and climate goals, and help advance the state’s progress toward a low-carbon future.”
