SAN JOSE, Calif (October 24, 2025) – The Silicon Valley Leadership Group (SVLG) – the leading business association representing the innovation economy and its ecosystem – today announced that Katherine (Kat) Chan will join SVLG on a special assignment, serving as Chief of Staff to the CEO over the next quarter. As Phase 1 of SVLG’s Future Forward agenda reaches completion, Kat will spearhead Phase 2 execution and operational excellence.
Kat brings over a decade of relevant experience scaling organizations and leading high-impact initiatives across technology platforms. At Airbnb, she drove critical growth initiatives during the company’s pre-IPO phase, serving as P&L owner for the Airbnblove loyalty program, leading new product launches, managing the integration of a $750M acquisition portfolio, and contributing to the strategic development of Airbnb.org, the company’s philanthropic arm.
Prior to her technology career, Kat honed her operational expertise in real estate development, focusing on the luxury hospitality sector at Kimpton Hotels and Ohana Real Estate Investors. An East Bay resident drawn to Silicon Valley’s innovation and entrepreneurial spirit, she has advised CEOs of technology companies and nonprofits on fundraising strategy, go-to-market execution, and operational scaling.
Kat holds a B.S. from Cornell University’s SC Johnson College of Business and an M.B.A. from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
