15th Annual Applied Materials Silicon Valley Turkey Trot Schedule, Thanksgiving Morning, November 28, 2019

San Jose, CA – Who/What: 23,000 people giving back to their community on Thanksgiving morning at the 15th Annual Applied Materials Silicon Valley Turkey Trot, produced by the Silicon Valley Leadership Foundation. Beneficiaries include The Housing Trust, Second Harvest Food Bank of Silicon Valley, Healthier Kids Foundation, Second Harvest Food Bank of Santa Cruz County and The Health Trust.

Where: Downtown San Jose

  • START: Santa Clara Street at First Street
  • FINISH: Santa Clara Street at Delmas Street
  • FESTIVAL SITE: Guadalupe River Park / Arena Green

Why: To help families in need in our community. In the past 14 years, we have donated $8.7 million to local charities. Our goal for this year is to donate an additional $1,000,000! Plus, it’s a great way to start the day and get ready for those extra pieces of pumpkin pie at Thanksgiving dinner.

  • 6:30 am: Race Day Packet Pick Up Opens Registration is available online until 9:00 am Thanksgiving morning.
  • 7:30 am: Elite Women’s 5K sponsored by Silicon Valley Bank Financial & PA/USATF Women sponsored by El Camino Hospital -Air travel provided by Alaska Airlines
  • 7:45 am: Costume Contest sponsored by Alaska Airlines & Mercury News @ Start Line
  • 8:00 am: Elite Men’s 5K sponsored by Juniper Networks & PA/USATF Men sponsored by PG&E – Air travel provided by Alaska Airlines
  • 8:25 am: 10K Wheelchair
  • 8:30 am: 5K/10K Mass Participation Start (by designated Corrals)
  • 9:00 am: Kids activities begin in Kids Fun Zone sponsored by Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital
  • 10:00 am: Elite Awards Ceremony (all “open” winners will receive a medal and gift card)
  • 10:30 am: Kid’s Fun Run sponsored by First 5 Santa Clara County (ages 2-7) -Autumn and W. St. John St.
  • 12:00 pm: Event Conclusion

Parking: For the media– TV live trucks and crew can park on Santa Clara or First St. by the stage, free of charge. For the public – There are a number of parking locations within a short walk from the Start and Finish lines. Celebrating the 15th Anniversary of Silicon Valley Turkey Trot

Founded and produced by the Silicon Valley Leadership Group Foundation, the Applied Materials Silicon Valley Turkey Trot is the largest timed Thanksgiving run in the U.S. Everyone is welcome. From family-friendly fun runs/walks, to honoring our policemen, firefighters, military and veterans; this race captures the essence of what Thanksgiving is all about.
