At the Ready: Reliability and the California Grid

California has many grid stability challenges: aging power plants, increasing electrification of transportation and buildings, and periodic heat events that have everyone wanting to crank up their air conditioners. As California grapples with these energy concerns, how can the nation’s largest state ensure its grid remains reliable during this period of instability?

SVLG members are invited to join SVLG for a roundtable with Commissioner Siva Gunda to discuss these important issues. Siva is Vice Chair of the California Energy Commission (CEC), and serves as its Lead Commissioner for Energy Reliability. Governor Gavin Newsom appointed Gunda in February 2021 to serve as the Energy Commission’s public member, and he was later appointed to Vice Chair in September 2021.

We hope you can join us at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP in San Francisco on Tuesday, November 1, from 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. PDT.  This will include lunch and a roundtable discussion moderated by SVLG’s VP of Environmental Policy, Mary Holing.

Feel free to share with your colleagues and data center managers. Space is limited and first come, first served.
