It is with great pleasure that we introduce this year’s Celebration of Immigration- DACA, Dreamers, Doers & Defenders. This exciting new event is a chance to celebrate those immigrants who have made incalculable contributions to Silicon Valley and America’s Innovation Economy through their creativity, ingenuity, passion and focus on the greater good.
Through this heart-warming and uplifting event on Thursday, August 23, we will highlight immigrants with invaluable roles as entrepreneurs, employers and employees while celebrating the openness and innovation at the core of our American identity.
Nearly half of America’s Fortune 500 Companies are currently run by an immigrant CEO or a child of an immigrant. Here in Silicon Valley alone, more than half of the engineers fueling our innovation economy were not born in the United States. This evening celebration spotlights the vital role that people from around the world have played to strengthen our economy, communities and companies in Silicon Valley, the earth’s epicenter of innovation.
Join us as we celebrate these stories – which, collectively, are Silicon Valley’s story.
