Biography

My work with the Leadership Group spans the Hire Learning program for redesigning postsecondary to career pathways for women and people of color, future-facing strategy and thought leadership for inclusive innovation companies, and organizational effectiveness through DEI&B (diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging). I bring 15+ years of expertise in improving organizations to catalyze beneficial change through human-centered design, science of learning, intergroup dialogue, and stakeholder influence.

I've been a United Nations delegate 3 times, have led DEIB (diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging) training for 5500+ people, consulted for dozens of businesses including solopreneurs and giant multi-nationals, and spoken about organizational effectiveness at conferences around the world. My UCLA Ph.D. is in Social Impact in Intercultural Programs with a focus on race, ethnicity, whiteness, and how organizations improve from intention to results. My Seattle University MA is in Organizational Development with a focus on human-centered strategy and leading systems change. I started DEI&B work in 2004 when completing my Kenyon College BA in American Culture. I’m dedicated to making complex DEI&B topics accessible to a wider audience and regularly create content for partner publications which are gathered for your viewing pleasure at www.drsaramurdock.com. I genuinely believe the best is yet to come... it's up to us to make it happen.
