Heidi Sickler is the Director of Energy and Environment and lead for Zero-Emission Vehicle and EV Charging Infrastructure Policy at the Silicon Valley Leadership Group. In January 2020, Heidi was appointed to the California Energy Commission’s Clean Transportation Program Investment Plan Advisory Committee to help the Commission develop the agency’s $100 million Clean Transportation Investment Plan that serves as the program funding for each fiscal year.
Every day, Heidi brings our electric vehicle future closer by working with member companies to advance effective legislation and regulation. In 2019, Heidi was instrumental in the passage of AB 784 (Mullin), later signed by the governor, California law which exempts zero-emission bus sales from the state sales tax, improving local air quality, increasing manufacturing jobs and clean transit options. In service of California’s green energy leadership, Heidi also works with members on the deployment of distributed energy resources, including incentives that support battery storage and clean energy.
Heidi has worked on Capitol Hill, serving three Members of Congress, and in the City of Los Angeles, supporting the Mayor’s Office, and in the City of San José, supporting a City Council Office. Heidi has won the Livable Streets Government Worker of the Year Award and the American Planning Association Hard Won Victory Award, both for efforts to improve sustainable transportation in Los Angeles, and for spearheading LA’s inaugural CicLAvia event.
