Tax Policy Silicon Valley

Tax Policy Committee

Advocate policies, regulations, and legislation that promote uniformity, conformity, and consistency with exemptions and scope between the federal and California tax system to ensure fair and equitable taxation of Silicon Valley employers.

Specifically, the Tax Policy Committee seeks to:

  • Protect the Research and Development (R&D) Credit
  • Support business incentives such as a Sales and Use Tax Exemption for the Purchases of Equipment and Services.
  • Level the playing field on state sales apportionment factor
  • Promote statewide tax fairness by the legislature, State Franchise Tax Board, State Board of Equalization, and County Assessors
  • Defend against onerous taxes, fees, and regulations.
  • Partner with Leadership Group’s Economic Vitality Committee and other Leadership Group Policy Committees where applicable.
  • Tax Policy Committee seeks to closely coordinate efforts on each issue with executives, Board of Directors, Committee members, and overall membership through “CEO and Committee Issue Champions.
